On-Line Bidding

We are entering into a new era of technology. For the first time we will be using live on-line internet bidding at one of our auctions. Perhaps this will be new to some of my regular auction attendees. Basically, we will have a cellphone connection to an internet computer during the auction. As I am calling for bids, the internet operator will be inputting this information live on the internet. Interested bidders can register before the auction. They will be sitting by their computers and watching and listening to what is happening at the auction. When they wish to bid they move their mouse over the bidding icon on their computer screen and click the button. The internet operator will relay this bid to one of my assistants who will acknowledge the bid. All this happens in “real-time” so that the live auction will proceed as quickly as normal.

If you are interested in finding out more about this, look at the PROXIBID site. You will see the catalog and over 1000 pictures of the items on the auction.
