Connecting Connections

Back in September we conducted an auction at the former Northfield Middle School. Northfield has a new Middle School and we sold the surplus property at the old Middle School. Even though we had an excellent auction, we had a number of metal student desks, metal teacher’s desks, and miscellaneous items that didn’t sell. I always hate to see usable items go to waste. Enter Patti Riebold of Connecting Connections in Red Wing. Patti has put her seemingly boundless energy to use in developing a way to rescue unneeded items in the Midwest, transport them to Honduras in Central America, and give the items a new life. On February 26, Patti brought a team of 10 very hard workers from Sentenced to Serve who loaded a 50 foot semi full of surplus school equipment to be sent to Honduras. It really feels good to be part of something so good. If you or anyone you know would like to get involved with Connecting Connections, be sure to contact Patti. I will be helping Red Wing auctioneer Casey Klindworth with the Connecting Connections fundraising auction in Red Wing on April 24
