It is auction season again.  I like to think that it is always auction season, but in Minnesota, spring and fall are the two true auction seasons.  You have seen my posting about the Harriet Ward Milk glass auction which I will be conducting this coming Saturday in Overland Park, KS.  This auction features 1400 pieces of milk glass from Harriet’s life long collection.  There are many unique pieces including some fine blue milk glass pieces.  Then when I get back from Kansas, I really get busy.  On May 3, I will be conducting an auction for “Junior” Sleezer of rural Kasson, MN.  “Shorty” as he is known locally, is moving to town after many years out in the country.  We will be selling his Ford 8N tractor, tools, garden tiller, trailer, furniture, and household items.  This will be a nice old fashioned country auction.  Later in the evening, I will be conducting a fundraiser auction for the Three Links Care Center in Northfield.  This will be a part of their annual Gala and the proceeds of the auction will be used in their hospice project.  On May 17, I will be doing a household auction in Owatonna, MN.  This will be the contents of a household.  The family has lived in the house since the 1950’s so there will be some really interesting items for sure.  Watch for a complete listing for this auction.  Then on the next weekend, I will be assisting my friend and fellow auctioneer Jerry Kokoschke of Blooming Prairie with one of the largest auctions that you will see this year.  This will be a huge Rice County estate auction.  We will start with a Friday night (starting at 4:00 PM) auction in the Morristown Community building with about 800 pieces of carnival glass.  Saturday’s auction will also be in Morristown with about 2000 more pieces of glass and china.  Sunday’s  auction will be at the farm site near Faribault with tons of primitives, very nice old books, thousands of uncancelled World War II era German stamps, military uniforms, a horse drawn buggy, nice old furniture, and lots, lots, more.  Watch for upcoming pictures and postings at this site.  We are looking forward to a very busy auction season.
