Looking for something interesting to do on July 4th. Look no farther. We are having a flea market in Northfield in Ames Park (right next to the river in downtown Northfield) This is the fifth year for the flea market and it gets better each year. We have a number of vendors selling all sorts of antiques, collectibles, vintage items, jewelry, knick-knacks, furniture, etc. The flea market starts at 9:00 AM, but I bet you will find people down there shortly after dawn. Come and spend the day in Northfield, watch the bike races, come to the flea market, enjoy the food, listen to the music, stay for the fireworks, and dance later. Sarah Ptacek Benefit Auction - June 13

On Saturday, June 13, we will be conducting a fundraiser auction for Sarah Ptacek. Sarah is a 28 year old single woman diagnosed with breast cancer. Surgeries and treatments have left her with many uncovered medical expenses. The fundraiser will be held at the American Legion in Byron, Minnesota. Byron is 8 miles west of Rochester on Highway 14. The event will start with a BBQ pork supper from 4:30pm - 7:30 pm. The supper will be provided by Vern and Anita Nelsen. Tickets are $15 at the door. There will be a silent auction from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm, followed by a live auction from 7:30pm - 8:30 pm, and after that, live music by Furious George from 9:00 pm - midnight. There are many very nice auction items that have already been donated including airplane rides, a goose hunting experience, Twins tickets, and many, many others. Jean Boardman Estate Sale: Northfield, MN

On February 28 and March 1, we are privileged to be able to conduct one of the finest estate sales that you will see this year in Northfield. The sale will be held to settle the estate of Jean Boardman of Northfield. The sale starts at 8:00 AM each day. The sale will be held at the Boardman family home at 611 Prairie Street in Northfield. The estate sale will be held indoors (shoes off, so bring slippers if you wish). The Boardman’s traveled extensively and there are many, many nice items from around the world, in addition to fine antiques and china, local pottery. I have included some pictures that are an indication of what you will find. As you can see, one of the items is a nice Jet tablesaw. There is also a snowthrower, lawn mower, hand tools, yard and garden tools, a nice antique settee, Royal Worcester dishes, many pictures and prints, silver and silverplate, Halling pottery, very nice stemware, upholstered arm chairs, two nice couches, several very nice beds, lots of linens, nice Norwegian sweaters, an incredible number of books including first editions and author signed copies, filing cabinets and office supplies and much, much more. SARAH HENSON FUNDRAISER

Our friend Sarah is a single mother of four who got her college degree in nursing at age 45. Sarah was diagnosed with an aggressive grade four glioblastoma brain tumor in June of 2008. She has undergone surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible and she’s currently undergoing intensive chemo treatments.

If you already know Sarah, you know how very special she is. If you haven’t had the good fortune of meeting her, she is one of those very special people that makes everyone she meets feel like her best friend - a loving and caring personality who truly inspires everyone she encounters. She is simply one-in-a-million.

Sarah’s friends are hosting a fundraising auction event at the Grand Event Center in Northfield on Friday November 14, with a silent auction from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, followed by a live auction from 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and live music with the “Zillionaires” starting at 9:00 PM. You can read more about the event and see some of the items to be auctioned at sarahhenson.wordpress.com We’d love for you to attend. Our goal is to raise $18,000 - Sarah’s annual mortgage payment. It is very important to Sarah that she and her family are able to stay in their house while she focuses all her energy on battling her brain tumor.

TOOLS & GUY STUFF AUCTION - NOVEMBER 1, HASTINGS, MN

We will be having an auction this Saturday in Hastings, Minnesota at 3685 James Court. James Court is in the southern part of Hastings, just off of Red Wing Boulevard. Al Waleski is moving to an apartment and doesn’t have room for all his tools. Al was a contractor for many years and has more hand tools than you can imagine. In addition to hammers, sockets sets, pry bars of all kinds, toolboxes, every kind of wrenches, shovels, rakes, and other hand tools, we will also be selling a newer washer and dryer, a chest type deep freeze, a tanning bed, numerous sheets of plywood, patio set, grill, propane tanks, wheel barrows, fishing equipment, a pressure washer, table saw, and many other items. On Saturday, October 11, at 10:00 am, we will be conducting the final auction in a series of auctions for the estate of Stephen Fymbo of Storm Lake, Iowa. Steve was an avid collector of Americana of all sorts. This will be the 9th and final auction. This auction features automobile memorabilia and advertising. There are also all sorts of other items including autographed baseballs, a Dick Clark autograph doll, model car kits, music ephemera, dozens of tachometers and gauges of all sorts. Hello everybody. This message is to let the world know that I am going to try something new. Some of you may remember going to an auction in Mantorville on New Year’s Day with lots of clocks and record players. It was a great auction from a Southern Minnesota estate. I have a chance to sell more items from the same estate. There are some really great pieces in the rough. I considered conducting another auction, but at this time of year, it can be difficult to get the right kind of crowd together for an auction. We have clocks, radio stuff, antique bicycles, furniture, paper goods, vintage linens, old photo albums, stereopticon parts, etc. I decided that with Gold Rush Days right around the corner, and with all the buyers that attend Gold Rush Days, we would get a spot to set up and price and sell the items at the flea market.
