Coldwell Banker-New Concepts Realty

This has been a busy week. I guess we all had something in common this week with TAXES. Fortunately I had something more fun to think about this week. As many of you know from reading my weblog, I spent quite a bit of time in February and March attending Real Estate school. I passed both my State and National Real Estate tests and I am proud to say that this past week I joined the firm of Coldwell Banker-New Concepts Realty here in Northfield. I was happy to join a firm that shares the same personal values and work ethic that I have tried to put into my auctions. I think that we will see more and more real estate being sold at auction. I want to get experience selling real estate with a broker to be able to do the best job possible for my clients and customers. Of course in addition to selling real estate for Coldwell Banker-New Concepts, I will still be conducting all types of auctions, just the same as before.

This Saturday, April 17 is the annual St Dominic’s school fundraiser auction here in Northfield. They really do a great job and I am looking forward to it. I hope to finalize several listings this weekend and get some new auctions on our calendar. It looks like we will have a full May schedule.

On May 22, we will be conducting an auction for Graham S. (Stan) Frear of Northfield. Mr Frear has sold his home and is downsizing. In addition to many nice household items, an excellent cherry gateleg table, wrought iron porch furniture, and numerous other items, I am pleased to offer at auction numerous pieces of Mr Frear’s art. Mr Frear is well known for his Construction Collages (Art Boxes), his “North Shore” seascapes, and his Irish landscapes and seascapes. We will be selling 25-30 Construction Collages and about 20 watercolors and oils. Please visit our photo gallery to view some of these pieces. This will be a very nice Northfield auction so make plans now to attend.

Washington DC

We just returned from Washington DC where we visited our son Peter who is working for Lutheran Volunteer Corps there. We got there at the height of the “Cherry Blossom Festival”. The cherry trees were beautiful (sorry – no pictures- camera problem) Peter took us all over DC. We saw the National Cathedral, Arlington Cemetery, the Smithsonian, Georgetown, Alexandria, the Mall, the World War II Memorial, and lots more. One of the highlights for me was seeing the original “Star Spangled Banner” from the War of 1812 at the Smithsonian. I really enjoyed riding on the Metro. If you ever have a chance to visit Washington DC, be sure to do so. We went out on Amtrak and enjoyed seeing the country from the rails. Now that I am back, it is time to get busy, and that is just what we are going to do.
